We use only the highest quality of materials in order to make sure the sustainability of the artworks made in our workshops. You will be building your artwork with hand cut stained (not painted) glasses and glass beads where the color will never fade away. The metal works on the lamps are made of zamak which is the mixture of zinc, aluminium, copper and magnesium with a special coating to eliminate rusting. Besides the lamps comes with wiring, us plug and led bulb.
Unfortunately, the chosen artwork cannot be changed during the workshop since we only bring the materials ordered to the pop-up locations. If you’d like to upgrade your artwork, let us know at least a week prior to the workshop, pay a difference and get a confirmation.
Yes. We do organise private events. We request min expenditure of £600 depending on the location, and if that threshold is not met, £150 extra charge on top of the regular artwork prices.
Take out the artwork from the box and let your artwork dry for a day. After it is dry, you can apply the ready mix grout directly to where you will be filling the gaps between glasses and beads. You should use a wet sponge to clean whatever is excessive on the top of glasses or beads right after applying grout without letting it dry. After you finish cleaning the excessive grout, you can let it dry for a day. Then your artwork would be ready to assemble. Learn more
The workshop was Amazing. The couple leading the workshop were brilliant . They were very helpful and organised. It was a something that was lovely to do with my daughter. I highly recommend it 👌
Really enjoyed spending a morning mosaicing this colourful lamp. The tutor was super helpful and friendly and the instructions were really clear with suggestions of different designs you could make. There was a lovely selection of colours and shapes of glass tiles to choose from.
Would recommend.
Me and my mum did this activity together on mother's day. There was a warm greeting on arrival from the workshop hosts. Lots of great resources and information provided. The variety of beads and glass were laid out beautifully and very eye catching. Host was very knowledgeable and great and giving practical advise to get the best finish on our pieces with example pieces on show. Me and mum made candle holders. There was Turkish delight and Turkish tea on offer which was a lovely touch. We felt thoroughly looked after. The packages made up for us to take home were beautifully presented and felt luxurious. The grouting at home was easy, the step by step information provided and plenty of spares just in case!
I would highly recommend going if you want a fun crafty night out which means you come home with a quality product.
The family running the event were lovely and couldn't have done anymore to accommodate us. It was great having little interludes with the hosts explaining the history of mosaic art forms and tea drinking in Turkish culture. I learned lots from the evening. Thank you.
The mosaic workshop was a lot of fun! The people teaching it were super helpful and had great tips. It's a lot of creative work, but so worth it! I love the lamp and have had several people ask about it. It's a great workshop and you'll love it! The reason for 4 stars was because the last step (grout) was trickier than I thought and it has to be done alone at home. Yes, they gave instructions and equipment in the workshop and I used what I could see on their website as well. But there was no one there at the time I was doing it to ask questions to and guide me. I found that I needed to use a small bowl from home to mix the grout, since one wasn't provided in the kit and the cup provided isn't big enough. I didn't know how fast the grout would set up and found that I needed to work faster to get it all done. I also found that I didn't have exactly enough grout, so I have a few small areas that aren't grouted, but I don't think it's that noticeable. Now that I know how the grouting works, I know I could do it better next time. Perhaps an online teaching video would be helpful, where they show step by step how to do the grouting and any tips to make it easier. Another tip: I had looked at the pattern designs online ahead of time and knew which ones I liked best, so I could get started right away choosing my tiles. This really saved me some time at the workshop! Others only saw the design choices when they opened their boxes and it took them a while to figure out what patterns they liked best, which took away time to actually put the lamp together. I recommend looking at the designs online before you go so you know what you like and don't waste time trying to figure that part out.
